Stunning Vintage 1940s Western Electric Red Telephone, Rotary Dial, Refurbished, Fully Working

IMG_5975

Offering a stunning vintage 1940s Western Electric 302 red desktop telephone. This is a model 302 Deco style desktop telephone from Western Electric, which started production in 1937. It was their first model with the ringer encased inside the telephone. Prior to the 302 model, all of their telephones had a separate wall mounted ringer box. The telephone has been meticulously refurbished, with gorgeous glossy red enamel. The ringer sounds fantastic. The original model F1 heavy bakelite receiver has excellent functionality and calls are crisp. All the cords are in new old stock condition, with a modern style modular line cord plug. The telephone is ready to plugin and use. This is an exceptionally well refurbished phone. Western Electric designed their phones for uncompromising reliability and durability. This is a very fine example of a model 302 telephone from the era. Ready for use right out of the box. Click here for more details.

Large Vintage 1920s Cast Iron & Wood Drafting Table

P1020126

Offering a stunning antique maple and cast iron drafting table made by Hamilton Manufacturing Co. The cast iron knobs, legs and hardware are fantastic. The base is made of black painted maple and the extra large table surface is made of pine with oak trim on both ends. There’s a scarce maple foot rest attached to the cast iron legs, which is removable. Excellent patina and desirable wear to the wood surfaces, which show its age and character. Everything is completely functional and very sturdy. The drafting table has a tilt function, and is also height adjustable. It has been carefully cleaned and waxed, while leaving all its original character and wear. The table surface has wear at four corners of the surface due to years of drafting with a compass point, which has left shallow pin point indentations, but a glass can easily rest on the concentrated spots. For drafting use, it would be best to use a drafting mat on the drawing surface, and its about one of the largest dimensions you can find for a drafting table.

The piece is perfectly suited as a desk, dining table, kitchen island/table, or a cocktail table in a commercial setting. Excellent versatility. The ability to adjust the height makes the table perfect for use with chairs or stools. The industrial design lends itself well to plenty of uses in various decor environments. Whether it be a compact NYC loft or a home office, this table will provide limitless options, as a show piece in whichever room you choose.

Dimensions: 60″W x 36″D x 33″H (height adjustable to approximately 42″)

Painting of Still Life in Oils on Canvas

Still Life

By Kay Hall

1940s-1950s

A Lovely use of colour and composition. The artist certainly had formal training, as the technique is well advanced. The paints are vibrant and show some signs of age, including cracks and a few very small spots of missing paint. There is a sketch on the back of the painting, with the name of the artist. There is a wire for hanging. Personally, I prefer the painting unframed.

GE Electric Oscillating Fan | Patented 1911

ANTIQUE GE ELECTRIC FAN
EXCELLENT BRASS FITTINGS AND BLADE
REFURBISHED
Patent: Nov. 1911
Type: AOU Form: AB
New period style wiring and power cord
Cleaned/oiled motor and bearings
Wick in fine condition and has been oiled
Oscillation gearbox opened and new grease added
A VERY NICE PERIOD FAN IN BRILLIANT WORKING ORDER

A fantastic antique GE fan!  It has a very smooth motor and hums along very nicely.  The oscillation gearbox works as it should.  All the brass fittings are bright and the GE badge is without dings.  There is one very small ding at the top corner of one fan blade.  Otherwise, the fan blades are unmarked, but have plenty of scratches, which were revealed when an older repaint was removed.  The fan blades could be buffed to a “like new” condition, but I believe in leaving a bit of wear on antique and vintage items.  As you can see the cast iron parts have some surface imperfections, there is a very tiny paint chip on the gearbox corner and the paint has a few scratches here & there. The three speed switch works perfectly, with strong connections.  The combination of the cast iron parts painted black, with bright brass and a red twist fabric cord, are a very fetching combination.
Definitely a must have for anyone interested in antique fan technology or a very nice decorator piece.
The fan is very heavy, due to its time tested solid construction.  It weighs nearly 20 lbs.  Packaged it would ship at around 22 lbs.
Offered at $275.- SOLD
