Offered at $995.- SOLD

Offering an early 20th century (1900-1910) antique oil painting of two gentlemen and a young butler. Unsigned, but this was generally the case with many portraits from this era. The original frame, which is no longer present, would have displayed a brass plate with the family name and the artists details. This portrait was painted by a highly skilled painter, with an excellent grasp of using loose brush strokes for a formal painting. A very desirable style, showing great skill. The artist was very gifted and likely schooled in Europe. This painting was obtained in the New York area.

The condition of the painting is excellent, with no areas of significant damage. A very fine example with some creases showing the stretcher from behind. It has a beautiful clean finish and a glossy older varnish present, which has protected the paint. The frame is suited well to the painting, but not the original frame.

Size: 19.5″x30.5″

Offered at $795.- SOLD

A primitive folk styled antique oil painting of a gentleman. It was found in upper New England and is either American or early Canadian. The surface is typical of a painting from the early 1800s. It has one small paint chip on the forehead and a few spot at the bottom corner. The painting has a cracked surface, but the paint appears well secured. It’s a bit dark and has a very old varnish on the surface. The painting was carefully cleaned recently.

Portrait of a Beautiful 1930s Lady
Dated 1930
By George Hill (1898-1969)
Stunning Large Scale Painting in Gilt Frame
Oil on Canvas
Framed 39″ x 43″
Offered at $2400.- SOLD

Offering a beautifully painted portrait of a young lady in a seated pose, with Classical styled clothing. The style has it’s roots in the 19th Century Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. There are several features, which indicate Pre-Raphaelite elements and overall feel. The composition and colours are exceptional. A very well painted portrait, with fantastic detail. The painting is nearly scaled to life-size, therefore the painting is rather large.
The gilt frame is of a very high quality, consisting of two frame layers. The gilding is in fine condition, with only minimal areas of it scratched off. The frame is very well constructed and heavy. Definitely suited to a finely painted portrait. It appears the frame was custom made from the same period, meaning it was likely original to the painting.
There are many fine cracks and puckers in the painting, but no missing paint or fading. Vibrant colour and details make it timeless. The paint seems to be firmly affixed to the high quality canvas. The painting hung over an old New England fireplace mantle, hence the distressed texture to the paint surface.
She’s absolutely lovely!

Sailboat in Boston, 1891

By R. Bates

Titled “Victory For The Title”

Offered at $475.- SOLD

Offering a lovely painting of a sailboat at the shore in Boston. Painted by a well trained artist, as displayed by technique, composition and colour. There appears to be a crew of three individuals. The details are finely painted and the use of colours are sharp and brilliant. It’s a rather old painting with a bit of paint chipping at the very top. Overall the painting is well preserved and clean. The details about the painting are present on the back of the painting, with a title, name of artist and location. The lettering is likely original to the painting and appear to be written in an old hand.
The gold & copper leaf frame is in nice condition, with a repair made at the middle of the bottom. There is a wire intact on the back.

The painting will ship by UPS. Insurance for the full amount of the purchase price will be added to your invoice. There is a $20 handling fee, which includes proper packaging and a box specifically made for shipping fine art. Please be in contact for shipping charges. Still Life

By Kay Hall

1940s-1950s

A Lovely use of colour and composition. The artist certainly had formal training, as the technique is well advanced. The paints are vibrant and show some signs of age, including cracks and a few very small spots of missing paint. There is a sketch on the back of the painting, with the name of the artist. There is a wire for hanging. Personally, I prefer the painting unframed.

Offered at $395.- SOLD

The painting will ship by UPS Ground.
International shipping is available.

JOHN F. KENNEDY SCULPTURE
BRONZED PLASTER BUST
AUSTIN PRODUCTION
MADE IN THE 1960s

A very nice plaster of JFK, with little to no flaws or missing plaster.  Definitely a very life-like representation, with well sculpted features.  It has a very nice finish and I’ve looked over the surface and have found no white plaster showing through.  The bottom has a felt pad and a little wear to the finish.  A great size bust for a bookshelf or a desktop.
Offered at $90.-SOLD
